Our Mission
Founded in 2018, Equip provides vocational, life, and social skills instruction for individuals living with disabilities.
We do this through curriculum made by certified teachers, using strategies that fit the students’ unique needs. The curriculum is delivered in local high schools weekly by Equip instructors.
We also provide assistance in securing and maintaining employment, on-site vocational support, and advocacy in the workplace for individuals living with disabilities who desire to be employed.
Our day program, Thrive, serves adults living with disabilities. Participants learn vocational, life, and social skills through community-centered programming and building relationships with fellow adults.
In addition:
We provide social groups, employment services, and donations for classroom needs of teachers and students.
We facilitate college tours, workplace tours, and work-based learning trips to participating businesses in our community.
We host an annual Career Expo for students to learn about a variety of career fields and hear from professionals.
We host an annual Mock Interview Day where students get to practice their interview skills with local professionals and business leaders.
We provide numerous opportunities throughout the year for individuals with disabilities to practice social skills and make connections with others in their community.
Exceptional Baits is a special project of Equip that employs individuals with disabilities to produce, package, and sell fishing lures. Exceptional Baits allows these individuals to practice job skills, serve on a team, earn money, be creative, and feel accomplished.
